Collection dyeing

Natural dyes, as opposed to synthetic ones, are multi-pigmented. They create a depth and vibrancy that is impossible to achieve with synthetic dyes. Using natural dyes, we can move into the direction of the highest sustainability—creating biodegradable garments.

We love collaborating with like-hearted conscious brands or individuals out there, co-creating, using natural colors as well as other natural materials. This is the sustainable path forward and also the reason we offer bespoke natural dyeing services in the field of fashion, interior, and art.

In our studio, we have the capacity to carry out small to medium-size collection dyeing. We love developing recipes using local, waste, or even invasive plants that add to the story behind your collection. Each piece is unique, hand-dyed, and fused with love for nature.

What we offer

  • Developing unique color recipes and client-specific color palettes.

  • Sample-piece dyeing.

  • Collection dyeing (All phases included: fabric preparation to ensure the permanence of natural dyes; color extraction; color mixing; dyeing; final wash and iron).

  • Advising on suitable textiles; purchasing textiles if desired.

  • We do not provide cutting or sewing services.

How it works

  • Everything starts with exploration meet, to get to know you, your wishes and desires. Followed by our favorite part - we immerse you into the world of natural dyes.

  • Our work is separated to the ‘exploration’, ‘research’, and ‘final production’ phase. Together we align on the timeline,“ scope of work, and compensation if we decide to work together.

  • We prepare color swatches for you, created by using different combinations of natural dyes and by using different techniques.

  • After defining the final color pallete and style we dye the whole collection.

Note

Only natural fibers (protein or cellulose) can be dyed with natural dyes. Dyeing synthetic fibers is not possible. We are working with nature, and while many factors can be predicted, this is still a process that is different from working with synthetic dyes in many ways.
